Netrani Island is a tiny island located in the Arabian sea. A few kilometres away from our resort in Gokarna, Netrani island has outstanding views surrounding it, and the island is meant to be heart-shaped. 

Netrani Island is populated with pigeons predominantly and wild goats, and hence it gets its colloquial name – pigeon island. 

It filled with coral reefs and clear waters. When you visit our resort in Gokarna, you must explore the island of Netrani. The beautiful sights and fresh island breeze is the perfect getaway. 

When you pack for staying in our resort in Gokarna, don’t forget to include your swimming trunks and diving gear. You can dive in the waters of Netrani island. It is also said to have been where you can see a variety of coral, butterflyfish, Tigger fish and eels. You can also spot orcas and whale sharks around the island.

There are several dive sites around Netrani island with the visibility of 15 to 20-meter range. The wide variety of coral and the beautiful marine ecosystems is the best place to get away and let all your worries slip away. 

Some of the dive sites in Netrani island are The Nursery which has a maximum depth of 10 meters. It is a shallow diving site that is suited for juveniles and beginners. 

This is a great place for photoshoots.

The other diving sites are Grand Central Station, The Abyss, Dini’s delight, Cul de Sac and Aladdin’s Cave.

These sites are filled with beautiful and colourful fishes like red snapper, barracudas, rabbitfish and surgeonfish. 

From the Grand Central Station site, which goes down to 20 meters, to the Abyss site, which is further down to 35 meters and finally to the shallow depth of Dini’s delight, you are in for an adventure of a lifetime. 

The Aladdin’s cave diving site is incredibly stunning as it’s an entrance to a cave said to lead to the heart of the island.

You can discover scuba diving and explore the vastness of nature when you book your professional scuba lessons while staying in our resort in Gokarna. You can also enrol on professional certification courses for anyone who wants to be a scuba instructor or diver. 

There are different types of Scuba Diving Courses that you can take while visiting Netrani island from our resort in Gokarna.

You can take the Single scuba Dive for a beginner who is enthusiastic about exploring the wonders that lie underwater. 

A professionally trained instructor will guide you through the entire experience. 

You can also take up a PADI/SSI scuba course which is a certification course from PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), or even SSI, which is (Scuba School International). This takes a long 5-7 days to complete. 

When you stay for a longer time in our resort in Gokarna, you can take up this professional course and dive without an instructor or other guides.

While staying at our resort in Gokarna and exploring Netrani Island, you can also visit various temples on the island. There is an ancient temple dedicated to Hanuman and how he flew to Sri Lanka to meet Sitadevi. According to localities, Hanuman is said to have rested on this island during his journey. Hanuman also made a small structure of Sri Rama from clay to give him strength while setting out. This temple is supposed to be auspicious for Hanuman and Sri Rama devotees.
