Sevagram, a small village located 83 kilometres from Tadoba Jungle Camp, served as the heart of Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent resistance movement. On the outskirts of this village, with a population of only a thousand, Gandhiji established his Ashram. Seth Jamnalal Bajaj, a prominent follower of Gandhiji from Wardha, offered 300 acres of land to the ashram. The ashram played a pivotal role in promoting social equality, employing Harijans.

This quiet village was transformed into a powerful symbol of resistance under Gandhiji’s leadership. Today, it stands as a living reminder of his philosophy of non-violence, self-reliance, and service to humanity.
