Experiences at Red Earth Tadoba

After a thrilling safari experience, pamper yourself with a rejuvenating massage at our Spa. Located in the middle of the wildness, the constant murmur from the stream and the song of birds keep you company as you relax those tired muscles in our special pedicure room or the sauna.

The family friendly restaurant is divided into a vegetarian and non-vegetarian section for your comfort. Indulge in a sumptuous spread of carefully curated North Indian, South Indian, and Continental food, prepared from the freshest, locally sourced organic vegetables and grains. A raised amphitheatre provides the backdrop for foot-tapping performances by the locals.

Share your jungle tale of the day over a fun game of table tennis, pool, cards or carrom at our well-equipped Games Room. For a more relaxed evening, get lost in one of our favourite books while humming to music from across the globe.

Round off an exhilarating day of tracking wildlife in the jungle with a luxurious swim in our 130ft long infinity pool with a wooden deck which sits snugly by our restaurant.

TADOBA NATIONAL PARK

For Royalty And More:
What is Tadoba without its tigers? There are roughly 140 individuals in and around the national park. Besides the star attraction, the forest is shared by Indian Leopards, Sloth Bears, Striped Hyenas, Indian Bison, the rare Four-Horned Antelope and Barking Deer, to name a few.


Winged Wonderland:
Tadoba’s dense canopy, coupled with waterlands filled to the brim with prey, are home to nearly 300 species of birds. Come winter, thousands of winter migratory birds make their way to Tadoba from as far as East Africa and Siberia, and from North India.


Small World:
Megafauna is not the only form of wildlife in Tadoba. This region is home to over 270 species of butterflies and thousands of species of other insects and arachnids! 

Jungle Safari

At Red Earth, you will have the opportunity to embark on Full-day and Half-day safaris, experiencing the flagship jungle safari at Tadoba. Being the only resort located on the fringes of Tadoba’s Zari gate grants us access to a much more serene and undisturbed area of the park.

Opportunities for sighting tigers are much higher here, but we must be patient and try to blend into the forests ourselves, for the wild is far more sensitive to us than we are to it. The slightest crunch, the smallest breeze, nothing goes past unnoticed by the jungle, especially its king. Join us on an exhilarating, open-jeep journey on vehicles that are less than 5 years old with certified naturalists, available on request. The safaris to the core of the reserve start from October every year.

Birding

With several water bodies and thick forest growth serving as home, bird calls and songs keep you company throughout the day in Tadoba.

Try your luck at spotting the majestic Grey-headed Fish Eagle as it soars over Lake Tadoba spotting its prey or the Golden-backed Woodpecker hard at work at a teak tree with our in-house naturalists. With a keen eye and ear, you might also hear the Crested Serpent Eagle with its shrill scream soar above the canopy, an Orange-headed Thrush bob about the forest floor looking for grub, Crested Treeswifts flitting about in the air without pause, a Stone Curlew standing attentively, Oriental Honey Buzzards pecking away at a beehive, Paradise Flycatchers, Bronze-winged Jacanas, Warblers, the Black-Naped Blue Flycatcher and multitudes of Peafowl: Just a few of the 300 recorded species of birds in the area.

Guided Nature Walks

If you want to have a true feel of the forest, there’s no better way to do so than a guided walk with a trained naturalist. Walk along the edges of the forest as our expert, a Gond tribesman, will guide you with the Law of the jungle, and will help you observe the many small creatures that reside in such borders. Birds and reptiles will abound here, as will smaller mammals. Who knows, you may even spot something bigger!

Stargazing

Tadoba is very conveniently located amidst a dark location far away from urbania, one of the few such remaining places in Maharashtra. As such, it provides an excellent opportunity to engross yourself in some stargazing after dinner. The universe truly opens up at Red Earth Tadoba.

Weather willing, you will be able to spot the Milky Way, that vast expanse of stars and lights that we are a part of, spanning the entire sky. And from there on, the universe is your limit.

Cycling

We believe that you experience life’s greatest secrets only when you slow down a little. At Red Earth, cycling is a perfect way to slow down while still having enough time to explore. So pedal away and follow the flight of a Swallowtail butterfly, or discover a Peafowl stirring to life in the early morning sun.

Bullock Cart Ride

Forget your 4x4 as you experience the village way of life on 2 wheels....and 4 hooves! Bullock carts are the lifeblood for most villages to this day, and now you can experience the joy of riding in one.
