History of Nagarhole National Park
The Nagarhole National Park, which covers 247 square miles, was first used as a hunting reserve by the previous Mysore kings. It was formally designated as a wildlife refuge in the year 1955.
It only encompassed a small portion of the forest at the time, including Hatgat, Arkeri, and Nalkeriin Kodagu. But when more reserve forests were added throughout time to expand the park’s total size, it eventually received the status of a national park in 1988, when it had grown to a size of roughly 643.39 square kilometres.

Timings and entry fee of Nagarhole National Park
Indian citizens must pay INR 150 per person and foreign visitors must pay INR 1500 per person to enter Nagarhole National Park. Every day of the week, it opens its doors to guests from 6:45 AM to 8:45 AM in the morning and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the evening. Please be aware that you must pay INR 200 for your camera if you are carrying one.
