Ballarpur Fort which was earlier called Ballarshah Fort is an ancient fort in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. The fort is located in the Ballarpur city, on the banks of river Wardha on the eastern side.<\/p>\n

History of Ballarpur Fort:
\nGond King Khandkya Ballal Sah, who succeeded to the throne of Ser Sah, his father. discovered a pond with miraculous waters which healed his boils and tumors. It was called Akaleshwar Tirth. The town flourished around the fort as Ballarpur or the city of Ballal. He also founded Chandrapur city. For many years Ballarpur was the seat of the kingdom, a regal city, and in the vestiges of the stronghold and its royal residence still holds the commemorations of its significant past. The city of Chandrapur was established later. The last Gond king Nilkantha Sah died in imprisonment at Ballarpur. \"Ballarpur<\/p>\n

Features of Ballarpur Fort:
\nThe fort was built of large black stones and was an intimidating shield during those times. The fort is rectangular in shape with the main entrance facing the east side. On the eastern bank of the Wardha, the land fort built here is a class with walls and towers. There are two intact doors set on each other’s right angle. There is also a small entrance on the edge of the river. The walls of the fort are still intact, but all the old buildings are in total ruins. Many parts of this pillar are still safe inside the earth. There are undiscovered tunnels in the fort walls.<\/p>\n

In 1790 it was repaired by Nana Saheb Bhosale. Today except for some dividers which stand erect opposing wind and downpour for quite a long time, the fort has fallen into remnants.
\nThe entryway is beautiful and the diagrams of the anachronistic castle can be followed inside the fort. Inside the royal residence, there are two shafts with doors a couple of feet separated which diverging in inverse bearings, lead each to a set of three underground loads, one of which speaks with the door from the waterway or the water entryway.<\/p>\n

At the point when these chambers were investigated in 1865 A.D. some copper coins and rusted iron rings were found. There was an additional perpendicular shaft that has not been learned. It is told that one of the passages relates to the castle in Chandrapur the doorway to which is said to be in a well in the patio. This shaft has its section essentially hindered at the door and now nobody enters it because of inconsistent murkiness inside.<\/p>\n

From the water entryway, a staircase leads up the defense divider where there are stone steps from where a capturing view of the waterway can be had. There is a picture of Kesavnath plated with gold once in the past remained in a little house under a neem tree before the castle. In 1818 amid the Wars of the British with Appa Saheb, this was stolen. After four years a Kamavisdar by the name of Pungpatel More displayed a stone picture set up of the stolen metal one, and Mr. Crawford who was director endorsed a stipend for the sanctuary.

It is provincially called the sanctuary of Kharji and some uninformed fortune-seeker has uprooted the headstones in the trust of striking covered riches and left the empty open. Before it, at his feet, as is meet, is the tomb encasing the powder of his wife, the adoring and the reliable Hiratalni, noblest and savvies of the rulers of Chandrapur.<\/p>\n
