Gokarna. This small, beautiful town located on the western coast of India by the Arabian sea is a famous pilgrim destination as well as a chilled-out destination for travelers. It\u2019s the easiest place to travel to, with an itinerary of 2 days or a week. Even a staycation in a resort in Gokarna<\/a> is a great idea. It has four beautiful beaches. You can actually trek from one beach to another. The town is divided into two parts, one for the devotees of Shiva and the other for casual, easy-going tourists. Gokarna has amazing eateries to try various different dishes and cuisines from all over the world as well as great resorts to relax with a sea view.<\/p>\n

The eateries in the temple part of Gokarna mostly offer vegetarian food. Most restaurants offer delicious authentic South Indian food. There are a few non veg restaurants here and there. There are a lot of stalls on the Gokarna Main Beach, which offer various south indian delicacies, snacks and local juices.<\/p>\n

\"Bananabuns\"<\/p>\n

If you are vegetarian or vegan here is a list of dishes to try in Gokarna Kombucha, which is a fermented tea. You get kombucha in 1 litre glasses in some stalls. Also a lassi with ice cream is amazing.
\nYou can find kokum juice being sold in bottlesThen there are amazing fried banana buns found in the least known stalls and small, unnamed restaurants. A unique vegetarian speciality called Patrode, which is colocasia leaves mixed with rice flour, spices and jaggery is deep fried and served with ghee is a must try. Also, near the beach, there is Amrutanna Prasada Bhojan,which is a part of Mahabaleshwar Swami temple where you get free prasad bhojan which consists of rasam rice papad and curd rice and you can have as much as you want to. The bhojanalaya is open till 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

Kudle Beach has cafes and shacks lined up in a row from one end of the beach to another, so that you don\u2019t have to worry about your cravings.
\nIf you are someone who loves to try different dishes and cuisines, Gokarna is a place for you.
\nYou can try multiple cuisines in Gokarna like Italian, Hebrew, Spanish, English, French, Pan Asian and Continental. You can choose your kind and head into your kind of cafe with a sea view. Many of these places have vegan options as well.
\nDishes you can try in Kudle Beach.
\nLaffa is a Hebrew food which is like a roll or pita cooked in tandoor. You can find it in places which offer Israeli food.
\nOm D\u2019s Cafe has great Russian food options,
\nLa Pizzeria (Old) is an amazing place to have pizza.<\/p>\n

Om beach is the historically famous Om-shaped beach.
\nYou can try Konkani fish thali for lunch in Gokarna.
\nA seafood dish which is not very commonly available everywhere is Clam Curry made with coconut milk and lemongrass.
\nThere are a lot of prawn options in Gokarna like, prawn curry, prawn biryani, prawn fried rice with fresh prawns from the sea.
\nYou can try fresh crabs and squids , available with different gravy options.
\nThere are multiple fish fry options as well , with fishes like mackerel, pomfret, king fish, seer fish and different marination options.
